Are you one of the 77 million baby boomers who have reached the mid-40s or beyond? Have you found that as you age the benefits of exercise become more and more clear? I am finding that since I turned 46 it is no longer possible to eat whatever I want and not gain weight.
I’ve also found that dieting alone does not keep my weight down. It’s amazing how much daily exercise is needed to maintain a healthy weight. Dieting with daily exercise is required or my weight continues to increase.
Here are listed three benefits of exercise that are increasingly important for baby boomers as we age.
The first is the importance of daily exercise. It not only helps you maintain a healthy weight but it lowers your cholesterol, improves your heart health, and decreases your chance of having a heart attack.
The second benefit is to maintain a healthy weight. Carrying as little as ten extra pounds is detrimental to your overall health. It leaves you more susceptible to heart disease and cancer.
A third benefit of daily exercise is it improves your mental health. It relieves stress, makes you more relaxed, keeps you mentally alert, and helps your memory.
These three benefits of exercise will make a major improvement in your life, especially as you age.
